Review: Kiss of Fire by Rebecca Ethington

Joclyn Despain has been marred by a brand on her skin. She doesn't know why the mark appeared on her neck, but she doesn't want anyone to see it, including her best friend Ryland, who knows everything else about her. The scar is the reason she hides herself behind baggy clothes, and won't let the idea of kissing Ryland enter her mind, no matter how much she wants to.
The scar is the reason she is being hunted.
If only she knew that she was.
If only she had known that the cursed stone her estranged father sent for her 16th birthday would trigger a change in her. Now, she is being stalked by a tall blonde man, and is miraculously throwing her high school bully ten feet in the air.
Joclyn attempts to find some answers and the courage to follow her heart. When Ryland finds her scar; only he knows what it means, and who will kill her because of it.

My Thoughts...
I literally JUST finished this one and I can't say enough how much I loved it! I will be jumping straight into the next book Eyes of Ember and I cannot wait!

This is the first book in the Imdalind series and it introduces us to a brand new fantasy world that's set in modern society. Jumping into this one I knew it was fantasy and that Joclyn falls for her best friend and she's ashamed of a scar, but other than that I knew NOTHING. I loved the fact that the first half of the book keeps you guessing as to what kind of supernatural being the book was centered around. Guess what? I was WRONG on every single guess! Ahh what a refreshing take on the fantasy/paranormal genre!

Also, I must say, the pacing of this one kept me immersed and on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time!

Joclyn and Ryland's chemistry practically melted through the screen onto my Kindle.  I also loved their humor and the familiarity they have with each other. Their relationship is built on years of friendship and those are my favorite ships!

All in All:
I'm making this review short because I'm off to read the next book Eyes of Ember! If you like magic, fantasy and romance then this one is for you! If you've read books like Reckless Magic, Significance or Bound by Duty then you'll love this one! I compared it to these books because it has the same magical feel with plenty of heart-melting romance!

Without further ado here are my top ten 5 book to movie adaptations I'm looking forward to! (I couldn't think of ten!)
