Book Review: Reckless Magic by Rachel Higginson {Mood: YA Paranormal Romance}

16 year old Eden Matthews has been in and out of private schools for the last two years. She can't seem to stop herself from closing them down. Kingsley is her last chance to finish high school and the last private school willing to accept her. She is focused on just getting through graduation until she realizes Kingsley is not like the other private schools she's been to. The students may be different, but so is she. And after meeting Kiran Kendrick, the boy who won't leave her alone and seems to be the source of all her problems, she is suddenly in a world that feels more make-believe than reality. To top it off, she is being hunted by men who want to kill Kiran and her best friend Lilly is taken away to a foreign prison. Eden finds herself right in the middle of an ancient war, threatening everything she loves. She alone has to find a way to save her best friend and the boy who has captivated her heart. Reckless Magic is an intricate story about mystery, adventure, magic

I'm grateful for...My Kindle Unlimited Subscription (and my WAY in the future book room!)

 There was a time when I solely relied on library books and free eBook offers to get me through. That was most of my 20's. I remember once, I totaled it up to see if I could just buy all of my books I'd read that year outright and it was almost 4,000 dollars! (That would have been all hard backs if I remember correctly.) Source: Giphy So let's get to my Kindle Unlimited Subscription before I got WAY off topic, like usual...I'm thankful for the monthly subscription because: I don't have to place a KU book on hold, I can read it WHENEVER I WANT! I get to read all the Indie authors I

The Quiet Moments {What I'm grateful for this week...}

I've decided to do a weekly blog post about one thing I'm grateful for during the entire month of December.  Today, I am grateful for the quiet moments in a hectic life ... That I am grateful for the quiet moments life gives us. A time to reflect on the day before and to begin anew. For me, those serene mornings help me settle to my mind, my quirky thoughts, and most importantly,  they help me see things in a refreshing light. Often times, I go to bed exhausted but always seem to look forward to my mornings.  Especially during this time of year.  This morning, as I was preparing lunch for work, I looked up from my cup of coffee at the stove and that  is when inspiration struck for this post and the realization that it's in these quiet moments that help me to gather strength, clarity, c
