Annabel Winslow is in a pickle. Then, while attending a party in the countryside, Annabel met Sebastian Grey, the Earl of Newbury's nephew. And suddenly she found herself not only courted by the lecherous uncle, but also the charming young nephew. Should she follow her heart so that she can be with the one she loves, or should she marry the loathsome earl just so she can put food on the table for her family and make sure that her brothers get to stay in school?

My Review...
Annabel sucked in her lips, clasped her hands together in her lap, and wondered what she might do to give off the air of being infertile.So maybe this is a bit of an odd quote to start a review with but it was one of my favorites. Annabel absolutely detests the Earl of Newberry & the above quote sums up her feelings perfectly. I also love it because it has just the right about of humor, a signature to all of Julia Quinn's novels.
Now let's delve into what I liked about this one...
1. The Dialogue - This whole book is chock full of witty humor & swoon-worthy dialogue.
2. The undeniable chemistry between Annabel & Sebastian - Their attraction for one another was another favorite of mine about this book.
Annabel had been utterly flustered, stammering something that might have passed for a greeting in a preverbal society. She did lift her eyes for a moment, because even she knew that one couldn't spend an entire introduction staring at the ground. But it was a mistake. A huge mistake. Mr. Grey, who has been quite good-looking in the moonlight, was even more heartstoppingly handsome by the light of day.3. Sebastian (Seb) - I loved his character, especially considering this is in 1822 London. He was compassionate, caring and an overall good person.
Overall: This isn't my favorite Quinn book but, nevertheless I found myself smiling often and not wanting to put it down while reading. If you are in search of a light & fluffy read with plenty of witty humor, charming characters and a Happily Ever After then this one is for you!
I can't wait to pick up another Julia Quinn book, they never let me down!
