There is a world that runs parallel to our own, a world in which the souls of the damned are caged, where they are looked over by the Furies, and where they spend eternity in torment, mirroring the devastation and mayhem they created when alive.
Someone has opened the cage.
The worst of terrors has crossed the barrier that separates our world from theirs, and the Furies send a great, albeit untested warrior—their only son, Alek—to try to bring those souls back. He is young and handsome, headstrong and impulsive, and he won't be able to do it alone.
Eva has grown up, beautiful and beloved, but surrounded by secrets. First, she will be hunted in an ancient feud that will threaten her life. Then, she will become the hunter.
With the police closing in and two worlds on the verge of crumbling around them, Alek and Eva must find each other, discover the limits of their powers, and work together to save everything they hold dear, including one another. Blending elements of mythology with the dazzling storytelling that her fans have devoured through the HOUSE OF NIGHT series, Kristin Cast weaves a spellbinding and passionate tale that starts a thrilling new series with an explosive charge.

My Review of Amber Smoke...
"Someone told me once that sometimes we have to do things that are wrong because we're protecting people who are right."

Dear Kristin Cast,
How can one person, a mere human being write such beautiful prose? Are you even human?!? You've lured me in, coercing me to become addicted to an Oracle, a fierce Warrior & three VERY entertaining Furies!
Are you sure you didn't gain access to Tartarus and steal a compulsion spell to ensnare your readers?
Sincerely,
A reader who's been forever changed (In a very good way!).

As I'm sure you can tell, I've been greatly affected by Amber Smoke. I will forever remember this story, if you've never listened to me before, I urge you to PLEASE read this story!

I find that I almost always have trouble writing reviews for my favorite books, but I will certainly do my best! I'm going to list the reasons why you should read this book.

  • Greek Mythology- Honestly I love mythology of any sort but Greek mythology in particular has always piqued my interest. The way in which Kristin weaves modern day struggles with ancient mythology was quite impressive.
  • The Characters- As I mentioned in my note to Kristin above, there is a vast array of characters in this story. Obviously I don't want to spoil anything but let's imagine a New Adult Romance + A Thriller Murder Mystery + Action-Adventure + Greek Mythology all rolled up into one miraculous story!
  • Fantastic Descriptions- My favorite scene is an action scene, I have no words to describe how vivid and real it felt while reading this scene. It was like a really good book in 3D!
  • The Plot- I had no idea what I was getting myself into. There needs to be a warning label on the cover that reads:  You may get sucked in and lose track of time!

All in all I loved Amber Smoke. I'm off to read the next book Scarlet Rain. That is all.
