After cheating death, Veronica Welling is determined to savor every moment in her idyllic kingdom with both her true love and best friend by her side at last. At the same time, Mackenna Reid is enthusiastically building her new life and a theater with her prince. But just as their dreams of happiness are within reach, the world Vee and Kenna have chosen is ripped away, leaving them to face their most horrific challenge yet—their old lives.

Thrust out of Doon, the best friends are confronted with tormentors from their past and no way to return to their adopted land. When the MacCrae brothers rush to their rescue, the girls' situation turns from nightmare to modern-day fairy tale. But their happiness could be short lived: unbeknownst to them, someone in their closest circle is aiding the witch of Doon in her bid to destroy the kingdom once and for all.

Here comes the review...
Hold on to your seats fellow Doonians, you're in for an amazing ride once you crack open Shades of Doon! This is the third book in this astounding series, and I must say, my favorite so far! (My first 6 star review of 2015!) Thanks to the wonderful authors Carey & Lorie, I am now totally infatuated with anything and everything Doon! Never thought I'd say this, but... I'm a total fangirl!

If I had to pick two words to describe this book it would be Wonderfully Adventurous! There isn't a dull moment in Kenna & Vee's life, they face many trials and tribulations but one thing stands out during the whole story, never bow down! Now doesn't that sound like the perfect theme?!?

For the weak who
choose bravery,
the broken who find
their strength,
and the oppressed
who rise up and fight:
Never bow down to your fear.

The plot really surprised me, in a VERY good way! Honestly I don't think I'd change one single thing about this WHOLE book! Perfectly paced, nothing predictable in this story. I'm the type of reader who tries to guess what is 'around the corner' so-to-speak. With Shades of Doon EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING was a complete surprise, and I loved every wonderful second of it!

Shades of Doon has the perfect setting, characters and plot! Now if you've never read Doon or Destined for Doon you are seriously missing out on an awesome setting! Imagine Outlander for young adults! My favorite part of the setting is the fact that Doon is set in Scotland, with the super swoon-worthy MacCrae brothers Jamie and Duncan! I'm not sure what it is, but there's just so much romantic appeal to Scotland!

I want to touch on the POV in this story. Normally I'm not one to care for multiple POV, but Kenna & Vee's voices stand out from one another perfectly. Once again, just another thing I LOVED about this book!

I could go on ALL day gushing about this book, please I beg of you pick up this book, you won't regret it! Oh and since I'm a Doon fangirl and follow Carey & Lorie on social media I have SOME GREAT NEWS... the fourth book will be titled Forever Doon! I believe it will debut in the fall of 2016, I can't wait!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish . I'm a bit behind on watching movies these days. What can I say, watching all 10 seasons of Supernatural on Netflix plus all of my DVR'd shows did me in. But I always make sure to make time to watch my favorite books come to life on the big screen! Without further ado here are my top ten 5 book to movie adaptations I'm looking forward to! (I couldn't think of ten!)
