TROLL by Ashley Harris
Seductive teens & trolls meet #Gameofthrones!

Get ready for a rollicking action and adventure story set in a magical world where a creature emerges from thousands of miles underground, seeking revenge, treasure, and a key that once belonged to an old enemy. Fans of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis and The Vampire Diaries  by J. L. Smith will be enchanted by this new YA novel selected by Kindle Scout readers for publication!

Today I'm super excited to share with you all my interview with Ashley C. Harris, the author of Troll!  **Don't forget to follow the blitz & enter below to win great prizes!**

Without any further ado let's get started!

  1. What was your inspiration for writing Troll?

Troll was inspired by a game I played as a child when I imagined the cracks and roots in the ground could open up into an underground world of gems, magic, and trickery. Ever since I imagined this as a kid I’ve written different versions of
TROLL while growing up.

  1. What book are your reading now? Who are your influences?

I want to start reading Michelle Madow’s ‘Secret Diamond Sisters’ series but sadly have been to busy to start. I love Nicole Luiken and Jennifer L. Armentrout also, there novels are excellent.

  1. Can you share with us your favorite scene in the book?

It’s hard to narrow it down to one favorite scene but I love where Wilhelm confronts Sofia about a big secret underground in her chamber while taunting her with her own gold.

  1. What book (if any) do you wish you would have written?

Twilight and One Night With The King are two great books I’d love to have written. ;-)

  1. Is this your first book? What books have you written prior if any?

No my first series is titled The SHOCK ME series, it’s a sci-fi YA series about teenagers with abilities. I’ve also written an NA romance series called ONE NIGHT IN, and a coming of age series called LINES, a story about teens, blackmail, and drugs.

  1. Characters often find themselves in sticky situations. When was the last time you've found yourself in a situation that was hard to get out of and what did you do?

I prayed, it’s kind of my go to when I’m worried I’ve mis-spoken or realize I’m wrong about something. I think praying, mediating and reflecting, and being not so quick to talk yourself into an even bigger mess are my go-to steps if I’ve gotten myself into an uncomfortable situation. We all do at different points in our lives often unintentionally, staying calm and getting through it helps us not to make the mistake again.

  1. If your book was made into a movie who would you cast as your characters?

Because TROLL was written a long time ago and then later re-written, at one point I imagined Jensen Ackles as Wilhelm back when Jensen was an actor in the series Dark Angel with Jessica Alba. That was A LONG time ago but that character he played ‘Alec’ is kind of my mental Wilhelm go to.

  1. What type of research did you do and what part of the research did you find the most interesting?

I researched old Norse and Scandinavia tales about trolls and found the fact that the trolls could often make themselves look human minus the occasional tale and grow to be mountain sized really cool. At one point in the past in those parts of the world a troll could really mean any evil creature or evil spirit seen by humans. Those kind of old facts I found fun to read about along with instances where trolls go after human children to take or trade as their own.

Thanks so much Ashley, I can't wait to read Troll!

About the Book...

At the age of sixteen, Abby is undergoing major household changes. Her mom is getting ready to remarry and her new step-brother is driving her insane. She is just trying to keep herself busy with school and her part-time job when a most deliciously handsome stranger moves to her little seaside town and won't leave her alone.
New arrival Wilhelm is unlike any other student at Abby’s school. His emerald eyes and tattooed body don’t truly reveal what he really is: a creature emerged from thousands of miles underground, seeking revenge, treasure, and a key that once belonged to an old enemy – a key Abby wears suspended from a chain around her neck. Why she has it is a mystery that Wilhelm will need to solve, and fast, in order to defeat a powerful mortal adversary.

As an attraction between Abby and Wilhelm develops, more creatures like Wilhelm are drawn from beneath the ground to Abby’s town; wreaking havoc as they offer Abby’s classmates the fulfillment of their deepest desires. Will Abby and her new family survive as a game of magical warfare is unleashed? Her ability to reverse Wilhelm’s bargain depends on it.
