What I've been up to and why I blog...

Hello everyone! I hope everyone's weekend has been well, luckily I had a three day weekend instead of the usual two! I really needed that extra day, as I'm getting over a stubborn cold. I'm not sure if I told you all or not, but I work a LOT of hours September through December.

Tonight I am finishing up reading Lord Fenton's Folly, my review will be posted
on October 3rd! It's been really fun reading it, plus Carla over at Lipstick & Mocha just read it, so I get to chat with her tonight about it! We're planning on doing a review together, I have no idea how that looks but I'm sure it will be fun!

The reason I wanted to write this post was because I just finished watching Magic Beyond Words, The JK Rowling Story. (This movie is on Netflix instant!) My husband and I watched it, he's not a big reader but he really enjoyed it. I am still trying to talk him into reading the series, in my opinion the Harry Potter books are even for people who don't read very often.

I highly recommend watching this movie slash documentary. JK's story is so inspiring, it's amazing how far she came and the struggles she went through before becoming a huge success. I think everyone can become "bogged down" with our daily struggles or mundane tasks. This lifetime movie was really refreshing and I recommend watching this if you are in need of a "boost" or reminder that you can achieve anything in life if you are willing to work towards it and hang in there for the long haul!

Alright, so I know the title says "why I blog", so I guess I'll get to the point. I blog because....

  1. I LOVE reading- I guess this goes without saying but I'll say it anyway. Reading enriches people's lives so much, and I am always happy to spread the word about great books. Books can really make a HUGE difference in our lives, and I believe there is a book out there for everyone, I want to help you find it!
  2. Connecting with other passionate readers/bloggers- There's nothing like connecting with fellow readers & bloggers. I find it's hard (not impossible) for me to find other's in my daily day-to-day life who have the same interest as me, so connecting with you all is super fun & exciting!
  3. Writing- For me blogging is my creative outlet, I know I haven't been blogging very long (since June 2015) but I feel enlivened and energized when I blog! In the past if I worked a lot of hours I'd feel super tired, now I have something fun & exciting to look forward to! I may not be very good at it (YET) but I believe practice makes perfect!

If I can't get my husband to read the first book I may see if he'll listen to the audiobook.

  3. I am so glad to hear that you have been enjoying that documentary. I am actually someone who hasn't finished the whole HP series yet and I am not sure if it is something I will like because me and the first three books were only okayish. But I am sure a lot of fans will be loving that! As for the reasons why you blog, I love them! I know I share them all <3 Connecting with other bloggers and readers as well as LOVING reading is a big part of things!
